Next enjoys sales boost

Next has reported that its full price sales for its first quarter to 27th April rose by 4.5 per cent over the same period last year, against its target of 3.2 per cent. This generated an additional £10m in revenues with eCommerce compensating for lower store revenues having risen by 11.8 per cent. Whilst attributing th sales improvement to the warmer Spring weather, market watchers believe that Next is one of very few high street retail chains to have fully leveraged its store estate for click & collect sales.
