Online sales boost for Dunelm

In its interim results for the six months for December 30th, Dunelm posted a like-for-like sales increase of six per cent, with retail store sales up by 3.5 per cent. The star performer for the retailer which owns Worldstores in addition to operating its main eCommerce site, was its online operation. Online sales rose by 36.8 per cent on a like for like basis to account for 18.5 per cent of its overall revenues. These are strong results in what has been a difficult period for the home furnishing sector as a whole.

During the period, Dunelm sold off Achica, which it had acquired with Worldstores in 2016, stating that its proposition was not a good fit. It achieved £600,000 for the flash sales business from BrandAlley.
