Half year sales rise at N Brown

N Brown Group has reported a 5.6 per cent rise in its sales revenues which reached £453.4 million for the half year to September 2nd. Simply Be had generated a 21 per cent increase in its sales, with Jacamo showing an increase of 6.7 per cent. Pre-tax profits had also risen to £32.2 million, an improvement of 1.68 per cent compared with the same period last year. Online sales had increased during the period by 14 per cent overall and this is expected to continue following new arrangements made with Amazon Fashion and Debenhams.

“I am very pleased to report continued good trading in the half, with Simply Be the stand-out performer,” commented CEO Angela Spindler, adding “We made significant ladieswear market share gains against what remains a subdued consumer backdrop. In line with other retailers, foreign exchange rates represent a headwind and this was particularly felt this half.”
