Dobbies Garden Centres has appointed Nicholas Marshall as chief executive with immediate effect. Marshall has over 30 years experience in the garden centre sector having founded and built Country Gardens PLC which was sold for over £120 million, as well as Country Homes and Gardens PLC. He also served as chief executive of Wyevale Garden Centres for four years taking it from near administration to a successful sale for £300 million. Marshall will be based in Edinburgh and takes over from John Cleland.
