Boodles embarks to improve communications

Boodles, which retails fine,
bespoke diamond jewellery, has
embarked on an initiative to improve communications across its exclusive retail
stores with a fully managed MPLS network from Vodat International. The new network will run from all stores, including
the head office, providing a much faster and more resilient service.Founded
in 1798, Boodles is a family company from North West England, with nine stores
in London, the northwest and Dublin as well as a flagship store located on New
Bond Street. Boodles needed a more secure fully managed network in place to
process confidential client information from stores to head office, to ensure
that its business is always running smoothly and causing no disruption to
clients.

William
Wood, IT Manager at Boodles, said, “Previously we had standard ADSL lines
running from our stores to head office. We were faced with a lot of issues if
the network failed which we then had to spend time sorting out, putting
pressure on our IT department. We deal with an exclusive clientele so, of course,
security for us is also crucial.”

“We
selected Vodat as they stood out from the other providers as experts within the
Retail sector. The active network monitoring that Vodat provides will alert us
instantly to problems, allowing us to take appropriate remedial action, and the
resilience built in to the network will keep our critical business areas online
and ahead of the game.”
