Destination Maternity CEO departs


A failed merger with French retailer Orchestra-Premaman, and falling sales, have led to the departure of Destination Maternity CEO Anthony Romano. The maternity wear designer and retailer operates more than a 1000 stores in the USA and its sales have been steadily declining. The business was adversely affected when it lost locations due to Macy’s closure of 59 department stores, had lost further locations when Gordmans had filed for bankruptcy, as well as outlets within Sears stores, and it had also ended a relationship with Kohl’s. 

Allen Weinstein is assuming the CEO role in the interim.
