SuperGroup annual sales up due to weaker Sterling

SuperGroup has recorded sales of £750.6 million for the year to 29th April, up by 12.7 per cent on a like for like basis. It had benefited from a weaker £ Sterling which boosted its international sales from most overseas markets. Its eCommerce revenues delivered year on year growth of around 35 per cent and the year closed with 555 Superdry branded store locations including franchises. The business expects that its full year profit will be between £86-87 million.

Euan Sutherland, CEO said “We remain focused on the consistent execution of the strategy outlined in early 2015. This global multichannel growth strategy balances opening stores, developing new wholesale partners, and driving our strong eCommerce proposition to expend the reach of the brand and further diversify our business model.” adding “FY17 has seen another good year of sales and profit growth. This has been achieved by improving our product ranges and introducing new categories to excite, inspire and maintain the brand’s relevance while, in parallel, investing in our development markets and improving our infrastructure.”
