Gtech to manufacture in UK

British electricals brand Gtech, which sells most of product direct to consumers via off the page advertising, TV advertising and digital marketing, has announced plans to bring part of its manufacturing from China to Worcestershire. This will create around 100 new jobs aligned with the brand’s plans to push into eight new territories over the coming 12 months.

Founder and CEO Nick Grey said “One piece of feedback I get repeatedly from the British public is ‘Nick, why don’t you manufacture your products here?” So we have designed the product to be manufactured here in the UK. Currently Gtech products are built in China and transported to the UK in shipping containers which are unloaded into a warehouse. They are then individually picked and delivered to consumers.”

The business now proposes to build to order on the day of despatch with immediate courier collection.  Gtech has annual sales of £121 million and was the recipient of the Direct Commerce magazine’s Readers’ Choice Award within the annual ECMOD Direct Commerce Awards last June.
