Argos has opened two new fulfilment centres to extend its same-day and next-day delivery services. The new 100,000 sq.ft. facilities are located in Birmingham and Reading with each employing 100 permanent part time and full time staff plus additional temporary worker to cover peak.
The new development will enable a further six million customers to use the Argos next day click & collect service which deploys Sainsbury’s supermarkets as collection points. Argos CEO John Rogers said that the two new sites will be processing more than a million items in the run up to Christmas.
