Amazon is to open a new fulfilment facility in Bristol in 2018 and which is expected to create around 1000 jobs principally in warehouse operations and IT. The new distribution centre, sited in Severn Beach, will be equipped with robotics technology and will help the online giant to meet growing demand and to service marketplace sellers.
Stefano Perego, director of online fulfilment for Amazon UK said “We are very excited to expand our network into Bristol which will create 1000 new permanent roles,” adding “There are several factors we consider when deciding on where to place a new fulfilment centre, and Bristol offers fantastic infrastructure and talented local people who we look forward to joining the Amazon team.”
