Sainsbury’s has snapped up the Nectar customer loyalty scheme in a “lock, stock & barrel” deal enabling it to better compete with Tesco and its loyalty scheme. Sainsbury’s has been a key user of the Nectar programme since 2002 and is now likely to adopt the scheme for its Argos operation.
A spokesperson for Sainsbury’s said that it will continue to service other retailers and that there would be no change for consumers who participate in the Nectar scheme.
