Myakka Comes Out Top

Myakka is proud to announce that for the third year running, the Somerset fair trade furniture and home
accessories company has scored 100/100 in the Good Shopping Guide, compiled by the Ethical Company
Organisation (ECO).

The Guide is the world’s leading reference book on how to shop with
confidence and a clear conscience, covering everything from banks to butter,
washing machines to jeans.

The ECO indexes each company based on a number of factors including:
impact on the environment, human rights and animal rights.

The aim is to encourage companies and businesses to uphold high ethical
standards by both highlighting the good practices whilst also underlining the
more negative practices that need to change. And Myakka received a
perfect score, putting the company ahead of larger high-street retailers such
as Homebase, John Lewis and B&Q.

Founder and director Georgie Hopkins said: “We work really hard to ensure that we trade fairly and ethically
with openness and transparency – it is at the heart of what we do. So we’re thrilled and proud to have
earned our place, once again, in the Good Shopping Guide, and with a perfect score.”
